Turkish EU Minister says Turkey coming to save Europe

As part of the modernization and development programs exercised by the government Turkey has mostly tried to do its part on the way to becoming a member of the European Union.

Turkey on the other hand however has always been the party to complain EU has not done its part to comply with the commitments made as per agreements between 2 parties.

EGEMEN BAGIS minister responsible for EU affairs currently has gone a step further to comment “Turkey would save Europe”. Mr BAGIS is known for having made other quite interesting and sharp remarks in the past as well, in this regard.

Mr. BAGIS while speaking at a conference in BUDAPEST emphazised that Turkey had a strategic location which connected eastern and western worlds and added that Turkey’s EU membership would become a unique opportunity to contribute to the continental peace project.

It has been stated by Turkish officials on several occasions that Turkey has never given up on its target to become part of EU and has always stuck to its determination in EU membership process,

It is also a known fact this country is determined to pursue concerned reform agenda believing it would also contribute to improving the life standards of Turkish citizens.

Referring to these facts BAGIS stated Turkey had adopted 320 laws and 1,555 secondary regulations in order to adjust its own legislation with the EU acquis since 2011 and added all unfair political blockades before Turkey should be lifted and Turkey’s accession process should be revived.

The most important comment the Turkish Minister made was “Turkey is coming to save Europe”.
