Turkey: Foreign Trade Figures, May 2013
It is reported that that overall export value has increased while overall import unit value has decreased in the Turkish economy as compared to May 2012.
The overall export unit value index increased by 0.5%As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 0.5%. In the same month, compared to May 2012, while the export unit value index for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 2.4%, the export unit value index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels decreased by 1.6%, 1% and 7%, respectively. The overall import unit value index decreased by 2.9%As compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index decreased by 2.9%. While the import unit value index for food, beverages and tobacco, manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 8.6% and 1%, respectively, the import unit value index for crude materials (except fuels) and fuels decreased by 8.5%, 10.7%, respectively, as compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year. The overall export volume index increased by 0.9%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 0.9%. In the same month, by the corresponding month of the preceding year the export volume index for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 17.3%, 42.1%, 14.8% and 6.4%, respectively.The overall import volume index increased by 9.9%In May 2013, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 9.9%. While the import volume index for food, beverages and tobacco, fuels, manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) increased by 3.4%, 15.7%, 3.3%, respectively, crude materials (except fuels) decreased by 11.3% as compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year.The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index increased by 4.2%.The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 117.2 in April 2013, increased by 4.2% as compared with the previous month, to 122.1 in May 2013. The calendar adjusted export volume index which was 124.7 in May 2012, increased by 0.9% as compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year, to 125.8 in May 2013.The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 1.7%.The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 130.8 in April 2013, decreased by 1.7% as compared with the previous month, to 128.6 in May 2013.
