DINK_ASSASINATIONTurkey is ashamed of the verdict announced by the court which has sentenced one of the suspects to aggravated life imprisonment for “instigating” Hrant Dink’s (Turkish journalist of Armenian origin) murder.

Another suspect was not sentenced in the case, however he was charged with ten years and six months in “the Mc Donald’s explosion” case.

The court also ruled that all suspects in the case be exonerated from charges related to “being members” of a terrorist organization.

The decision caused big unrest in the conscience of the public and protest and very harsh criticism was expressed by many parties regardless of their involvement in the process, to include the Prime Minister and the President of the country.

It was gathered later that the prosecutor will be filing an appeal for the ruling as he is not satisfied with the ruling either.

The case has been in Turkey’s agenda for almost over 5 years now and it was expected to shed light on the question “Who is behind this condemned murder?”

The court however has judged there were not enough clues to reach the conclusion the assassination was undertaken by an organized terror gang.

This being the case, the court ended charging the crime on 2 young men with nobody or organization to back them up – which was certainly unacceptable by the public with a bit of conscience and logic.

The funny part was the judge personally commented that the court did not believe the youngsters had planned and executed the whole thing either and they thought there must be a group behind it but that was the best decision they could take because there was no evidence to rule elsewise.

Furthermore, the prime minister and the president also commented they were not pleased with the outcome and the public conscience was disturbed.

However at the end of the day, the conclusion has not changed..  At least for now

Our comment is “It is a GREAT SHAME” for Turkey and the justice supposed to be prevailing in this country.
