Caglayan expresses hope to increase bilateral trade volume with Iran

Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan, who is currently in Tehran as part of a delegation accompanying Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, made assessments yesterday with regard to Turkey’s commercial ties with Iran following the welcoming ceremony at Sadabad Palace.

“Besides preferential trade, we will be holding contacts about promoting and increasing bilateral trade in Turkish Lira and Riyal,” Caglayan said, expressing hope that trade volume between Turkey and Iran would increase following the talks to be held in Tehran.

Stating that Turkey has totally committed to international rules and procedures with regard to trade with Iran, Caglayan said that all sorts of practices would be conducted in line with decisions taken by the Turkish government. Caglayan added that jointly establishing organized industrial zones with Iran was on the agenda of his meetings with relevant ministers.
