The Prime Minister did not neglect to slam the opposition in his speech and also referred to the most recent incidents at METU (Middle East Technical University) in Ankara where a severe clash between the police and students took place.

The PM stated that Turkey had managed to overcome the global economic crisis and been able to get through the fabricated crisis, in a successful manner.

Erdoğan also referred to the criticism forwarded by the opposition and commented as follows;

“Despite Turkey’s international success in economy, the opposition draws a pessimistic picture which is a situation beyond any explanation.. There are some circles extremely annoyed by the development of the country, development of Turkey seems to bother them.

Turkey keeps walking, breaking records in every aspect of life. Our economy polices have been tested dozens of times during the last ten years. We have managed to overcome the global crisis and been able to get through the made-up crisis. We have won three parliamentary elections, two local elections and a plebiscite. We have never made compromises in regards to our financial policies. With the help of God, we will be moving ahead on the way to making our dreams come true and give Turkey greater happiness and success.

Erdoğan also referred to the incidents at METU where students and the police confronted and slammed the administration for losing control over the incidents and held them responsible for the behaviour of the students.
