TERRY_MATTHEWSThank to its very good image in the international arena and a stable, growing economy and young population quite a few entrepreneurs have decided to start businesses in Turkey, recently.

Another good reason to support the idea Turkey is eligible for new investments (and in IT sector in specific) is this country has so many talented young engineers that follow the rapid changes in technology very closely.

Among such entrepreneurs is Sir Terry Matthews (of Welsh origin), expected to start a company in Turkey after his visit to this country in the coming days.

Sir Matthews is serial high tech entrepreneur and investor who has established many companies in the world so far.

He has revealed his plan for Turkey as follows;

“I believe it is the right time to establish new companies in Turkey. I will start the process possibly by establishing a company in Turkey in 2012. Globally, I allocate $ 20 million annually for the companies to be established from scratch.”

The entrepreneur says that Turkey has a very good image in the international arena with good engineers and a young population and it was not difficult for him to take the decision to invest in this country.

Sir Matthews has established about 90 new companies from scratch during his career and he says he believes ” it is the right time to establish new companies in Turkey”.

He says the reasons for this are “He has good experiences with Turkey. Turkey is a really good place to employ good engineers and workers and the world is passing through a period that technology rapidly changes.”

Matthews has also mentioned he focuses on the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and a bit of France until today and now it is time to look to Turkey.

Among some of the companies he has established in the high tech communications field are Mitel and Newbridge Networks.

He is also the Chairman of Mitel, March Networks, and Wesley Clover and owns service facilities and resorts such as the Celtic Manor and the Brookstreet Hotel.
