Members of CIB (Turkish Steel Exporters’ Union) to visit to Pakistan and Bangladesh

Turkey’s Steel Exporters’ Union (CIB) will visit Pakistan and Bangladesh as target market between March 6 and 12.

CIB executive board chairman Namik Ekinci said that a trade delegation from CIB would visit Pakistan and Bangladesh to open new markets for Turkish steel industry.

The delegation had visited Chile, Peru and Colombia in October 2011, said Ekinci, adding that the visit increased Turkey’s steel export to those countries.

Ekinci said that steel export during the three-month period before the visit of the delegation had been 30 million USD to these countries, adding that the export increased 160 percent to 79 million USD during the three-month period after the visit.

Ekinci said that Turkey met only 2.52 percent of steel import of Pakistan and Bangladesh in 2010 also noting that Turkey’s steel export was 2.6 billion USD in the first two months of 2012.
