Israeli FM Lieberman Considers Collaborating with Terrorist Organization to Punish Turkey

Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Lieberman is considering collaborating with the PKK and Armenians in response to Turkey’s sanctions issued against Israel.

Allegations have surfaced that Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman has decided to cooperate with the PKK and Armenians in a form of retaliation against Ankara’s sanctions. An article in Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper entitled, ‘Israel will Punish Turkey’ writes that “Israel may suggest collaborating with the Armenian lobby in the United States and providing military support to PKK terrorists.”

The article noted that officials from Israeli’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs met on Thursday in preparation for a meeting to be held today with Lieberman. The daily went on to state “This Saturday’s session is directed at discussing Israel’s response to Ankara’s decision to downgrade diplomatic ties with Jerusalem.”

COLLABORATING WITH ARMENIANS

The newspaper asserts that amongst the possible measures is facilitating collaboration with Armenians by way of Lieberman heading to the United States this month where he will meet with leaders from the U.S. Armenian lobby in order to propose collaboration in congress against Turkey.

MEETING WITH THE PKK

The article goes on to allege intentions to cooperate with the PKK and states, “Lieberman is also planning to organize meetings in Europe with PKK leaders. His intentions are to cooperate with the terrorist organization and to boost them in every possible area. During these meetings, the PKK may request aid from Israel in the form of training and weapons. If such a step transpires, this would mean Israel will have taken on a serious position against Turkey.”

AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM ISRAEL

Yedioth Ahronoth also wrote that Lieberman had another ‘diplomatic campaign’ in his ‘tool box’ in which Israeli representatives missions worldwide will be instructed to report and to join the struggle preventing any Turkish moves made against minorities. After Lieberman’s plans were linked by the press, the Israeli Prime Ministry Office released an announcement stating that their policy was the same as before and involved preventing ties with Turkey from further disintegrating as well as pacifying the tension between the two countries. Paying no reference to the newspaper article, the announcement stated; “The prime minister and cabinet discussed the various theoretical possibilities should escalation occur,” it said in a statement. ”

But a decision on such will be made only if and when required.
