Great Kurdistan in ME .. A future threat for Turkey?

"Share this post on social media, spread the news"

Middle East has drawn much attention from imperialistic countries of the world throughout ages.

In fact many wars have taken place in the region due to the economic benefits of such countries, oil sources to be in the first place.

After the domination of the USA (one of the youngest states) in the world, ME has been the region with the first priority for the national benefits of the USA.

The USA has focused its interest on the ME for two basic reasons;

  1. Control of oil resources in the region
  2. Prevent any unwanted influence on the region from any third state

NEED FOR OIL

The most important reason for the US to have strong interest in the region is petroleum. It is reported that 61.9 % of petroleum reserves on the Earth are located in Middle East region.

Meeting the petroleum need of the USA and its allies at reasonable prices and ensuring a consistent flow of this vital product from this region have been two important factors in the policy developed by the USA for the region.

Technical details: The global petroleum need will increase to daily 120 million barrels until 2030 from daily 75 million barrels by 1.6 % increase in each year according to the calculations carried out by economists of the USA. The USA shall oblige to pay US$ 150 billion in 2029 for the petroleum that it will import. The petroleum need of China will increase by a hundred percent, and EU will import 92 % of the petroleum that they consume at this date. The increase shown in the world energy demand in this way, explains what the real purpose of the USA is in its restructuring attempt towards Middle East region.

POWER PLAY

The second but equally important reason for the USA to keep a good eye on ME is to make sure no other state in the ME is strong enough to have influence over other states in the region. The US wants to have the ultimate control here.

In the past, Iran was considered to be the strongest power in the region (with support from USA). In time, the US tried to assign IRAQ the same role which did not last very long and ended with the conflict between Saddam and the States

Turkey in the meantime is supposed to have been steady allies of the world giant, all along, in spite of a few conflicts between the two countries.

However Turkey country possesses such unique characteristics that the interests of Turkey and the US and do not overlap leaving the States no other choice except for considering other alternatives rather than keeping Turkey as long term ally to share same objectives.

In better words, Turkey is now a feared challenge for the US and even target from the point of view of regional interests of the world giant.

GREAT MIDDLE EAST INITIATIVE (GMEI)

It is clear that Turkey is given enough attention by the USA among countries to be taken care of in the medium/long run. In fact the developments initiated by the US in the region have certainly caused Turkey to suffer most. Among these are the invasion of Iraq and the latest artificial conflict created in Syria.

Just when Turkey was about to balance the new status with the Kurdish Administration (state actually) in its south, another and bigger conflict has come about – created actually by the US – to put Turkey out of balance. The situation now is no different to a puzzle with many unknowns.

Looking at the picture painted by most recent incidents in the region one can easily see the US has been realizing its objectives step by step on the way to creating  A NEW MIDDLE EAST.. Drawing new borders and realizing the GREAT MIDDLE EAST INITIATIVE as it is often referred to.

The plan seems to be ;

“get rid of Assad..
split the country into several pieces..
support a new Kurdish administration – to be established in the north of Syria
and help build the steps to the formation of a Great Kurdistan State  with the union of  some territory from southeastern Turkey

.. so that the USA can have a new strong and loyal ally that can be used for the benefits of America”

Even at this stage it can be seen how big the threat for Turkey  is

But even worse is the further future; There are millions of Kurdish citizens in Turkey. Not all of them consider themselves to be living in heaven but this goes for millions of other Turkish citizens as well. But a great majority have opportunities to make a living, send their children to school and get equal treatment with citizens of other ethnicity etc.

However, this Kurdish population might pose a threat for the Republic of Turkey as they might be a target for the new Great Kurdistan State – expected to be established – to provoke (using ethnicity element) and cause unrest in Turkey – which has been a very popular strategy used by emperial powers in the last decade. In such an undesired situation the whole thing could lead to a civil war between ethnic groups (citizens of Kurdish origin and others) in Turkey and end up with the intervention of  United Nations most probably, like was the case with Yugoslavia ..

If this freightening scenario happens to come true one day in the future, Turkey might miss its present situation and you can bet, badly…
