PATRIOTAs part of the efforts to provide Turkey with protection measures against a possible Syrian assault the German parliament has agreed to send  two Patriot missile batteries to Turkey and deploy400 troops.

Germany’s cabinet also agreed on Thursday to allow utilization of AWACS planes, which are currently stationed in the region, within the scope of NATO operations.

Still the German government is obliged to get the approval of Bundestag, its lower house.

Currently some deputies and groups, Greens to be in the first row are against  the deployment of troops and sending of Patriots to Turkey. However, despite this barrier the government is expected to obtain a broad parliamentary majority.

The Netherlands and the USA are also expected to provide Patriot missile batteries to Turkey.

It is reported that said deployment is expected to be accomplished in several weeks.
