Eczacıbaşı is a prominent industrial group in Turkey with its 40 companies, nine of them with foreign partnership, close to 9,300 employees and a combined net turnover of USD 2,5 billion.

Founded in 1942, Eczacıbaşı Group inaugurated its first industrial move by establishing the first Turkish modern pharmaceutical plant in Istanbul in 1952. Today Eczacıbaşı is a group of industrial enterprises focused on both domestic and international markets on building materials, healthcare and consumer products.

The group also has enterprises operating in finance, information technologies, mining and real estate development sector.

Eczacıbaşı owns one of the largest integrated ceramic healthcare equipment production in the world. The group is the market leader in cleaning papers sector as well.

The group has significant presence both in local and international markets with its brands VitrA and ARTEMA and continues its leadership in the cleaning paper products group with “SELPAK” brand which actually has given its name to cleaning paper products, in Turkey.

The group also markets the global brand Nivea’s products in every category and is the market leader in hair cosmetics industry. The group owns a number of products such as DETAN, SELIN, OK and ORALET, all market leaders in their segments.

The group left the pharmaceutical production industry by transferring its shares in 2 pharmaceutical production companies to ZENTIVA in 2007. The purpose was to focus on new original biotechnological products (that cannot be produced in Turkey), manufactured with high technology.
