Diyarbakır, the southeastern city of Turkey populated with citizens of Kurdish ethnicity mainly is scheduled to witness a major celebration event on March 21st, this year.

As the armed conflict between Turkey and outlawed pro-Kurdish terror organization seems to be coming near the end (hopefully) and the jailed leader of the organization keeps sending peace messages from IMRALI island where he has been kept in prison for years, most parties involved in the peace process as well as millions of citizens concerned about the bloodshed so far, have held their breathe to hear what kind of a message OCALAN is going to convey to tens of millions tomorrow.

Earlier in the week a delegation from BDP (pro-Kurdish party) had visited OCALAN on the island and S. DEMIRTAS, the co-chairman of the party had said PKK leader was to send out a strong message to Kurds on Nevruz day having to do with the ongoing peace process, most certainly.

Obviously the city is going to witness a historic meeting tomorrow as millions are expected to celebrate Nevruz, in a meeting which is thought to be a milestone in the ongoing peace process as OCALAN is expected to announce “a road map on the way to establishing peace.”

It is known that Nevruz (meaning new day in Persian language) is strongly linked with Kurdish identity in Turkey mainly owing to political reasons, and this year it is considered to be much more significant for all parties involved the Turkish political arena and the Kurdish issue in specific.

It is also reported that OCALAN’s call will contain a message aiming to “completely democratize Turkey” and urge Parliament to work towards ensuring that permanent peace is established in the country.
